Tree Pruning in Limassol
GardenWorks prunes trees in gardens across Limassol: olive, citrus and other fruit trees, shade trees and ornamental trees.
Good pruning keeps a tree healthy, safe and in proportion to the garden. It removes dead and crossing branches, lets light and air into the crown and keeps growth away from roofs, walls and cables.

What's included

When to Prune Trees in Cyprus
Deciduous fruit trees such as fig, pomegranate and almond are pruned in winter while they are dormant. Olive trees are usually pruned after the harvest, from late winter to early spring. Citrus trees are pruned lightly once the fruit has been picked and the cold nights have passed. Dead or dangerous branches can be removed at any time.
Pruning Olive and Citrus Trees
Olive and citrus trees are in almost every garden in Limassol. An olive that is never pruned becomes dense, tall and less productive; pruning opens the centre, keeps the height manageable and encourages new fruiting wood. Citrus trees need less: removing dead wood, water shoots and branches that touch the ground is usually enough.
Pruning Without Harming the Tree
Cutting too much at once, or cutting in the heat of summer, stresses a tree and exposes the bark to sunburn. We remove only what the tree can afford to lose, make clean cuts in the right place and avoid topping a tree unless there is no other safe option.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should trees be pruned?
Most garden trees benefit from pruning once a year. Fast-growing trees may need it more often, slow ones every two or three years.
Can you reduce the height of a tree?
Often yes, by reducing the crown gradually so the tree keeps a natural shape.
Is it better to prune a tree or cut it down?
If the tree is healthy, pruning is usually enough. If it is dead, diseased or unsafe, removal is the better option. We tell you which when we see it.
Do you take the branches away?
Yes, we can. On small jobs taking the waste away is usually part of the work. On big jobs with a lot of green waste it is charged, and we tell you the cost before we start.
How much does tree pruning cost in Limassol?
It depends on the number, size and type of trees and how easy they are to reach. Send photos on WhatsApp for an approximate price.
